Solsoma Flow. Movement to make space, for the mind to land.

Every class is shaped on purpose: the philosophy, the movement, the breath, the meditation. Sol is reflective of the sun. It is heat, effort, and building with purpose. Soma represents the moon. Cooling, easing, restoring. Every class holds both, every time. Preparing for stillness.
The order isn’t a preference, it is an intentional bell curve. The body settles first. Then the focus drifts towards the breath. Once those two have synced, the mind has somewhere to land and the movement begins. Movement clears any murkiness, creating an opportunity to ease. Not a cool-down at the end of a workout, rather the steps the practice was building toward, coming back to yourself.

Preparing for stillness
All Solsoma flows follow the same curve: Grounding, Breath, Sol (heating), Soma (cooling) and Stillness (integration). What changes is where the summit sits, and how focus is divided between the build and ease.

Each teacher brings their own experience and style, but the foundations of the Sol and Soma flow do not change. That is what built with intent means. The movement is how we get there. Stillness is where we are going.

Questions? We’re here to help.
Questions?
First time / never practiced before?
Most people feel awkward walking into their first class. That’s OK, we did too. Just tell your teacher when you arrive. Nothing in the class requires you to know what you are doing. You can find your way away around the studio and get set up without rushing.
What do I wear to class?
Wear what feels comfortable and that you can move in. When you arrive at the studio, remove your shoes before entering.
Coming back after a break?
Welcome back. You’re welcome to join any class as modifications are always offered. If you’re looking to ease back in, we recommend starting with a Soma Flow or Foundations class.
What do I bring?
Yourself, a drink bottle and a towel. We have mats, blocks, bolsters, blankets and secure lockers. If you like to use your own mat, bring it along. Filtered water is available outside the studio and tea is offered before and after class.
When should I arrive for Class?
At least 10 minutes early. We encourage everyone to be settled 5 minutes before class starts to avoid disruptions and to respect everyone’s practice.
I have a health condition / an injury / I am pregnant. Can I practice?
In most cases, yes. However, we may require a certificate or clearance from a registered practitioner depending on your personal circumstances. We will need you to let us know at the time of booking, or if you are dropping in, please discuss with your teacher privately. We will do our best to accommodate you and your needs, but we may not be able to in all situations.
Is there parking or public transportation close by?
Solsoma is a short walk from Gymea train station and can be accessed by bus. There is parking along Gymea Bay Road, Warburton Street and the surrounding area. Sometimes the area can be busy, so we recommend arriving early to find somewhere closeby.
